About me

As a naive 18 year old, I came to university in Sheffield with few culinary skills; the most advanced meal I could manage was beans on toast or instant noodles!

With a little help from friends (and a bit of experimentation) I picked up some basic skills over the next few years, but found that living in shared accommodation meant my cooking was limited to whatever was quick and easy. Invariably, as many students and graduates find, this meant years of living on pasta-based meals!

However, now that I have my very own kitchen, I have been able to experiment further, and my confidence in the kitchen has grown immensely. Until quite recently, I was actually quite a fussy eater, as was my boyfriend, Dan, but I think that making our own food has helped us both overcome these food fears.

I don’t claim to be the world’s best cook, but I wanted to share my cooking adventures (and mis-adventures) with the world!
